A tape carry handle is a flexible strip of plastic film (=“Backing”) with an adhesive coated side + a non-adhesive area (called “Insert”, “Inlay”, or “Label”).

The backing and the adhesive are produced in the Alimac plants following strict quality criteria.

The insert (Inlay) is made of paper, polypropylene, soft foam and other materials that originate different types of tape carry handles.

The artwork on the insert is produced in our plant in Germany following a careful process involving the customer. A skilled team is fully dedicated to artwork production.

The customer decides the artwork subject - the logo, sale promotion, QR code, etc. are printed in colour or black/white.

Alimac tape carry handles are applied by automatic handle applicators installed in the customer’s production line or, alternatively, by hand, for small productions.

The handle applicator and the tape-machine interaction are crucial for good application to packaging.

Strengthened by its expertise in tape carry handle technology, Alimac produces a wide range of handle applicators under the brand Mactec, 100% owned by Alimac.

Alimac is the only market player able to sell the system of machinery + tape carry handles plus a wide range of services and applications. We call this the Alimac-Mactec Integrated System (AMIS).

Mactec handle applicators are highly reliable and perform all market applications - on top of packaging, on the side, oblique (very common for gallons), on cartons, on the bottom (common for 12 l or 19 l bottles). They fulfil the needs of any production line, from SMEs to large companies.

Alimac tape carry handles can be produced by any handle applicator on sale of any brand. However, Alimac tests its products on Mactec handle applicators.
