Alimac wants to provide its stakeholders with evidence of attention to social responsibility and compliance with applicable laws and regulations regarding safety, hygiene and working relationships.
The key points of the policy are shown below:
1. The collaboration of the management representative and workers' representative guarantees that the use of forced labour does not occur or is not sustained and does not require staff to leave a "deposit" in cash or identity documents at the time of employment.
2.ALIMAC keeps in mind the prevailing state of knowledge on the sector it operates in and all the associated risks, guaranteeing a safe and healthy workplace. It adopts suitable measures to prevent accidents and damage to the health of its employees that may occur during work, minimizing the causes of danger attributable to the work environment as far as is reasonably practicable.
3.ALIMAC ensures regular and documented training in health and safety and provides this when new staff are employed or there are job changes. It has established systems to identify avoid and/or deal with potential risks to the health and safety of all staff. The company respects and promotes the right of all employees to form and join the trade unions of their choice and the right to collective bargaining.
4.ALIMAC guarantees that trade union representatives are not subject to discrimination and that these representatives can discuss with their members in the workplace by making available suitable spaces for their meetings. Alimac does not implement or support discrimination on recruitment, payment, access to training, promotion, dismissal or retirement based on race, class, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation. It does not interfere with the staff’s right to follow principles or practices or satisfy needs related to race, class, national origin, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation.
5.ALIMAC does not allow behaviour, including gestures, language or physical contact, that is sexually coercive, threatening, offensive or aimed at exploitation. ALIMAC does not use or support the use of corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion or verbal abuse.
6.ALIMAC undertakes to make its suppliers aware of compliance with the principles outlined above. It undertakes to set up communication channels with company staff, customers and all stakeholders.
