Product range

It is an innovative concept, a trademark registered by Alimac.

The label-tape carry handle is a 2 in 1 product - a pre-laminated tape carry handle with the function of a label as well.

This innovative concept concentrates all the product information usually written on a label in the tape carry handle.

In addition, you can have all the features and benefits of an Alimac tape carry handle - safe hold, top quality manufacturing, versatility on a large range of packaging, easy to grasp, lift and carry, and so on.

So you can have greater comfort, practical use, coloured communications and the same product information as on a label in just one product.

Alimac labels-tape carry handles are currently used in these markets:

5 l, 12 l and 19 l bottles/gallons with rigid handles. Advantages are especially in terms of cost savings and management of suppliers.

Collapsible bottles. In this case, the brand and product information is always visible even though the bottles shorten little by little as the water is used.

Multi-pack market. Some brands use non-printable shrink film for economic benefits. The package, however, is anonymous (even if the bottles inside have a label by law).

We solve this problem with the Alimac solution - we have brand visibility, bar code and the QR code on the top of the package and 2 sides. When the package is stacked, the 2 sides remain visible.

Product information as on a label

The printable/coloured part is larger than other tape carry handles to allow complete function as a label. Tables, writing, icons, logos, images, bar code and QR code can be put in the coloured/printable part. Both end parts are additional printable surfaces plus an adhesive part to avoid the “twist effect” compromising the product image.

The application is very versatile as it can be put on all types of packaging. The label-tape carry handle replaces traditional labels or can be added to them as more space for product information.

Cost saving

The label-tape carry handle is cost-saving compared to bottles with traditional labels and rigid tape carry handles.

This Alimac solution implies a significant reduction of suppliers and cost elements as shown below:

Space reduction. Moreover, the storage of the label tape carry handle takes less space than rigid handles, just like the 1 handle applicator in the production line instead of 2 machines (rigid handle applicator + labelling machine).

If there are no handling systems on the bottle/gallon, the manufacturer does not need to buy the 5 cost items mentioned above but just 2 - the handle applicator + label tape carry handle. The saving is evident.

Another saving is the format changeover. The Alimac solution allows a quick and easy change of just 1 reel with a different subject/artwork.

When bottles have a traditional label and rigid handles there are 2 changes:

• The rigid handle (another colour or type)
• The labels

Easy to apply

The Alimac label-tape carry handle is applied by any automatic handle applicator on sale , quickly and easily.

Mactec automatic handle applicators are highly reliable and simple to use.

A multilingual and intuitive PLC touch screen manages and controls the application cycle and set-up of the different formats.

The application is safe, regular (at the same point) and precise at high speeds - the brand / product image always looks good and there are no problems in the production line with 98% efficiency guaranteed.

The Combi, the innovative Mactec 2 in 1 machine (Shrink film wrapper + handle applicator) also applies the label tape carry handle to packaging like the 2 x 5 l shrink package.

The Alimac-Mactec Integrated System (AMIS) gives the customer the best application performance with Mactec handle applicators or Mactec Combi.

Environment friendly

The label-tape carry handle is environmentally aware in accordance with the Alimac green policy on the environment.

As it is a particular type of tape carry handle, it respects all the key principles for the environment. In addition, it offers 2 additional green advantages:

• Energy consumption: The installation of just 1 handle applicator rather than 2 machines means energy savings. The labelling machine no longer necessary in the production line.
• No labels: This means reduction of adhesive and tree-based materials which can be consistent in fast moving consumer goods where volumes are large.
