Carton Family

The Mactec carton family applies the tape carry handle to cartons, as they are very uncomfortable to grip, lift and carry during both logistics operations and for end-consumers.

The Mactec Carton has an application speed of up to 50 packs per minute, depending on the pneumatic or electronic model. The speed is up to 100 packs per minute in the double lane version and 150 ppm in the three-lane one.

In some cases, even though the carton already has a paperboard handle on the top, some companies find it very useful to apply the tape carry handle on it as material reinforcement and to provide superior comfort for end users.

Applying a tape-carry handle to a carton requires great attention because there are different kinds of paperboard and surface treatments.

The most appropriate tape carry handle must be chosen to guarantee reliable application.

Carton handle applicator features

Carton application requires some specific features:

Special self-adhesive tape Application of a very long adhesive handle with extraordinary width (up to 37.5 mm), ideal for corrugated cartons.
Special application head The application head is equipped with a special long arm to apply the handle underneath the packs.
Special conveyor This is actually divided into 2 smaller parallel conveyors. The long arm applies the handle in the gap between them.
Excellent holding strength The tape handle should be applied from the top to under the carton to ensure a robust grip of the tape and avoid critical problems. The tape carry handle wraps around the bottom for 20-30 mm on each side.
Carton test We always test the application of the tape, taking the following into consideration to guarantee optimal application:
• different types of cardboard
• different surfaces of the box
